Since 1988, Cuyabeno Lodge has been a sanctuary in the heart of the jungle. Built with ecological materials, it blends seamlessly into the rainforest landscape. There, you'll enjoy the comfort of hot showers and fresh, delicious meals, all provided by their friendly staff dedicated to making your stay truly unforgettable.

DAY 1
Transfer from your hotel in Quito to the airport, flight to Coca: leave the Andes for the Amazon, where a private transfer takes you to the Cuyabeno Bridge. From there, a two-hour motorized canoe ride on the Cuyabeno River brings you deep into the rainforest. The journey itself is a wildlife safari, with frequent sightings of monkeys, toucans, macaws, and more. Once at the lodge, you'll explore the beautiful Laguna Grande, home to pink dolphins, and swim at sunset before an evening of rainforest sounds.

DAY 2
Monkeys and birds will be your morning alarm. After a short canoe ride, you'll hike through the "terra firma forest" with your guide, who will explain the ecosystem and point out details like poisonous frogs and giant insects. After a midday siesta, you'll explore flooded parts of the forest by canoe, looking for monkeys, birds, and even dolphins. After dinner, a night walk reveals fascinating nocturnal insects and animals, like giant grasshoppers, stick insects, and night monkeys.

DAY 3
After an early breakfast, you'll visit a local Siona indigenous village. After a 1.5-hour canoe ride, a Siona woman will teach you how to prepare traditional casabe, a tortilla made from freshly harvested manioc. After returning to the lodge for lunch and a siesta, you'll take another refreshing swim and enjoy the sunset. A special nocturnal canoe excursion awaits after dinner, where you'll use flashlights to search for caimans, snakes, and other nocturnal animals.

DAY 4
Start your last morning with a birdwatching trip as the jungle awakens and you start your journey back to Quito. You'll take a final canoe ride back to the bridge, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife one last time while your journey back to Lago Agrio and then to Quito.
